MYCON Breaks Ground on Woodbridge Centre

MYCON General Contractors, Inc. has started construction on Woodbridge Centre in Wylie, Texas, a 25-acre shopping center developed by Clark Street Development and anchored by a 123,000 square-foot Kroger Marketplace. Clark Street Development and Kroger recently completed an agreement that will bring the new Kroger Marketplace to the burgeoning North Texas grocery market in Wyle – one of the fastest growing communities in the region. The center will be located at the intersection of FM 544 and Woodbridge Parkway, across from Wylie High School. Woodbridge Centre will offer approximately 30,000 square feet of shop space and eight retail outlot sites, including a Kroger Fuel Center. download pdfread more

MYCON Begins Construction on The Outlet Shoppes at Oklahoma City

MYCON General Contractors, Inc. has started construction on The Outlet Shoppes at Oklahoma City, a 350,000-square-foot outlet mall located at the intersection of Interstate 40 and Council Road. Horizon Group Properties and CBL & Associates Properties are co-developing the retail project which, once complete, will be the only outlet center in the state and within a 145-mile radius. Adams + Associates Architecture was chosen as the architect for this project, which is expected to be complete in late summer 2011.

MYCON Awarded Contract to Build Encore Wire’s New R&D Development Center

MYCON General Contractors, Inc., a McKinney based company, announced that it has been awarded the contract to build Encore Wire’s new Research & Development facility in McKinney, TX. The 13,000 sf building will be built to LEED Platinum standards and will incorporate solar energy, solar water heating, recycled materials, rain water harvesting and environmentally friendly paints and coatings. The building will be completed in late 2010.

The LEED rating system is a point-based system that consists of five broad categories: sustainable sites, water efficiency, materials and resources, energy and atmosphere and indoor environmental quality. Certification and the proper LEED rating are achieved only after the building is complete.

“We are very pleased to be selected as the general contractor for Encore Wire’s new R & D facility. To our knowledge, this is the first Platinum Research & Development Center in North Texas. Dallas Logistics Hub LEED Gold Certification

The Allen Group is pleased to announce that it has been awarded LEED® Gold certification by the U.S. Green Building Council for the first two industrial buildings at the Dallas Logistics Hub in recognition of the sustainable design and construction methods implemented on the project. LEED is the nation’s preeminent program for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings

These state-of-the-art buildings are part of the largest new, eco-friendly, logistics park in North America, with 6,000 acres master-planned for 60 million square feet of distribution, manufacturing, office and retail developments. Building 1 is a 635,000 square foot, cross-dock facility, while Building 2 is a 192,850 square foot warehouse facility

The project was developed by The Allen Group. MYCON General Contractors, Inc. was the General Contractor, GSO Architects were the design architect and Bjerke Management Solutions served as Construction Manager. download pdfread more
